Admission Process

Name of the course

Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)

 

Basic qualifications & prerequisite for MBBS Course:

  • HSC or equivalent with Science (Biology, Physics, Chemistry).
  • Candidate has to secure required grade point in the SSC and HSV examinations.
  • Candidate has to secure required grade point in the MBBS Admission Exam.

 

Student’s selection procedure for MBBS course:

As per approval by the SWMC admission committee, selection will be made –

  • According to the MBBS admission test merit list.
  • 5% of total students will be selected based on poor and meritorious quota / freedom fighter quota.

 

Medium of instruction: English.

 

Duration: MBBS course comprises of five years, followed by logbook based rotator internship for one year.

About Admission

Admission will be on the basis of merit following the terms and conditions as directed by the Govt. of the People’s Republic Bangladesh. At present the admission process will continue as per latest government decision for the session 2020-2021.

Those who have passed ‘O’ and ‘A’ level or equivalent examinations in the specified years having equivalent examination in the specified years having equivalent marks also eligible to apply with an equivalence certificate from Director General of Health Service, Mohakhali, Dhaka.

 

Application Procedure

Application form, prospectus and other information are available at the office of Sylhet Women’s Medical College and completed application form and relevant documents must be submitted to the office by the candidate or his/her representative in person with in the announced date and time.

 

Document to be attached

The students need to apply in prescribed form which can be collected from the pricipal’s office. The competed form, along with the documents is to be submitted on or before the date as declared in advertisement.

  1. Attested photocopies of the transcripts of SSC and HSC or equivalent Examination.
  2. Attested photocopies of the certificate/testimonial of SSC and HSC or equivalent Examination.
  3. Four copies of recent passport size attested photographs.
  4. Nationality certificate from Chairman of the Union Parishad/Ward Commissioner of Metropolitan City of National ID Card.
  5. Money receipt of the purchased admission form.
  6. Admission form must be completed properly.
  7. Admit card from DG Health.
  8. Merit Score and Position of the exam taken by DG Health.

Foreign student’s admission requirements

Foreign students need to apply according to the rules & regulation of their respective coutries through their Embassies. Students need to collect equivalence certificate of S.S.S / ‘O’ Level and H.S.C / ‘A’ Level from the Director General of Health Services.
